Installation  & Configure VLC media player as default player.


For Ubuntu or any Linux users there are many media players to go with. But they actually don't provide correct support accordingly.

Coming to vlc mediaplayer this actully provides a great support and very easy to install. There are many benefits with Vlc media player.

Any way i want to provide all the list of open source medial player.

Here are some of the popular open-source media players for Linux users: VLC Media Player, KMPlayer, SMPlayer, SPlayer, UMPlayer, MPlyaer and a lot more that we didn't list. How would you choose which one would you go with?

As i have told in the above paragraph for me the best media player is VLC and i prefer going with that:-

In Ubuntu, you can get it by running the following commands.
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install vlc browser-plugin-vlc

Configure VLC media player as default player


To set VLC meadia player ad default one. Click on gear icon to get into System Settings > select Details –> Default Applications. Then set Audio and Video to VLC media playe as default one.
