 Install cinnamon 1.8 in Ubuntu 13.04

Cinnamon is desktop environment developed by Linux mint team for Linux mint. Cinnamon desktop environment that offer more comfortable and modern features and experience to users of Ubuntu.

I love unity the default environment in Ubuntu its too good but I just want to make you try this beautiful cinnamon environment.

There are many new features included in Cinnamon 1.8 Screen-saver, Cinnamon Control Center, etc

Installing Cinnamon in Ubuntu 13.04

 

$ sudo add-apt-repository ppa:gwendal-lebihan-dev/cinnamon-stable 
$ sudo apt-get update 
$ sudo apt-get install cinnamon nemo - See more at: http://www.unixmen.com/install-cinnamon-1-8-ubuntu-13-04/#sthash.3njEUJJt.dpuf

 

After installing Cinnamon and Nemo file manger. Just restart your PC.

Click on Ubuntu logo at the top right corner of your user name on the logon screen. You should see Cinnamon and others.

Select cinnamon and login.

Latest version of Cinnamon 1.8 is not yet available in Ubuntu repositories hence thanks to PPA
